Archives for June 2013
Do you hang out, work, or live in or near the Hollywood neighborhood?? Be sure to keep an eye out for your June issue of The Hollywood Star. Our very own Sarah Hauser and Rick Huddle are featured in an article (page 4) about the PSG and our upcoming Festival of Stories!
Rick and Sarah share the wisdom they’ve gained from honing their storytelling skills. “The craft is creating the story,” says Rick in the article, “The art is when you deliver, connecting with an audience.”
Both Rick and Sarah are telling in our Festival of Stories this weekend — Rick will be joined on Friday evening by Concetta Antonelli, Eric Foxman, Steve Henegar, and Rebecca Hom for a program titled “The Gambit”, featuring both personal stories and folk tales. Sarah will tell on Saturday evening’s program, “Tales From the Dark Side: A Celebration of the Brothers Grimm”, along with Norm Brecke, Anne Rutherford, Barbara Fankhauser, Julie Strozyk, and Ken Iverson.

Are you familiar with the National Storytelling Network? Many of our members are also members of the NSN, the largest storytelling non-profit in the U.S. It is an incredible resource for storytelling advocates of all kinds, and is THE place to connect with them. Check out http://www.storynet.org/ to learn about the upcoming conference this August in Richmond, Virginia, as well as the many other wonderful things the NSN is up to.
