Sarah Hauser Festival of Stories
The Portland Storytellers' Guild is pleased to announce the tellers for this years Sarah Hauser Festival of Stories. This festival is named in honor of Sarah Hauser, a long time PSG member and past-president who passed away recently. This festival was first thought of by Sarah and it is the final performance for the PSG's performance year that runs from Sep through May. We will begin again in Sep. for the 2017-2018 season.
The Sarah Hauser Festival of Stories will be held on Friday June 2nd and Saturday June 3rd.
On Friday, June 2nd, the Festival of Stories will present several of the Guild's Master Storyteller's presenting NSFW (Tales of Wit and Wildness Not Suitable For Work). An evening of stories for adults. Many of the stories may contain adult content. We have a great line-up of some of the Guild's finest teller's for this evening of stories for Adults. The program will feature Storyteller's Barbara Fankhauser, Patrick Gannon, Steven Henegar, Ken Iverson, Ingrid Nixon, Anne Penfound and Julie Strozyk.
On Saturday, June 3rd, the Guild will present it's once-a-year Storython event. This is a wild night featuring 14 tellers each presenting a story of no more than 5 minutes length. You will be amazed to see how a well crafted story can be delivered in 5 minutes or less. It is a very fast moving night filled with surprises. Even the tellers do not know their place in the show until they show up that night, they do not know what kind of story their story might need to follow, so they arrive ready for anything. It is fun for the tellers and for the audience alike, and both are likely to be surprised. Each teller on this night is actually auditioning for a spot in one of our monthly shows (Sep - May) and their readiness for those shows earned them an invitation to be in the Storython.
