The fourth annual Festival of Stories wraps up another storytelling year. It was a wonderful two evenings of storytelling by some of Portland’s most accomplished tellers. I hope you were able to experience one or both nights. From Ingrid Nixon’s moving story of her personal journey – to Chetter Galloway’s outstanding story of the ongoing challenges our black citizens have faced with racism, the Vanport flood and urban renewal, these two nights, it was a memorable and moving wrap up to the year.
This coming year the Guild will celebrate its 30 anniversary. If you would like to be a part of this growing organization, consider joining. It only costs $20 and the very next event will be the annual celebration of members in August. That include lunch on us with ice cream cake for dessert. Not to mention sneak preview of all the exciting things lined up for the coming year.
Hope to see you at our storytelling performances when they start again next September.
