Karol and James perform original interpretation of in-depth researched historical events. All of Brown Tones Productions programs provide educational entertaining storytelling experience appropriate for families, schools, churches and the theater. Brown Tones Productions adapts performances to hold the attention of first graders for a 40-minute presentation up to a 90-minute musical stage production. The selection of stories, songs and music is arranges with smooth transitions that are easy to follow. Brown Tones Productions performances are heart warming, spell binding, unifying and empowering. Karol Brown is a Registered Dietitian and Health Educator with natural talent for public speaking and teaching. Karol presents Health Education workshops and combining her experiences in nutrition and lifestyle education with storytelling to enhance learning. Karol is Aunt Harriet to the many people she has touch in her presentation of Harriet Tubman, as a charming, jovial and inspirational elderly woman. Using humor, drama, and audience interactions, Karol, a consummate storyteller, brings to life the stories of the woman called Moses.
James Brown has a natural talent for telling and singing original stories and song. He is a featured soloist in the Gospel Choir at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Tacoma, WA. James portrays Harriet Tubman’s caregiver Bother Ely who greets the audience and takes them on a vicarious journey to meet Harriet Tubman. James’s smooth tenor voice adds the sweet sounding Negro Spirituals to enhance the stories.
