Lynne Duddy is a native Oregonian who has always been drawn to storytelling. She has a rare gift for creating characters through voice and gesture and honors the feminine point of view, even when telling stories like Beowolf and Grendel. Lynne uses the language of story to connect people with one another and transcend human differences. She grabs a hold of her audiences and together they are transported on an unforgettable journey through the human experience.
Lynne delights all kinds of audiences from children, young and grown, to adults, aged but young at heart, with a blend of folktales, myths, legends and a few original tales sprinkled in for good measure. She is an advocate of the oral tradition with the ability to captivate people's imaginations, and bring the beauty of the mundane into focus. In addition to performing solo, Lynne also tells in tandem with Lawrence Howard as StoryHarmonics and is a founding member of the Portland Story Theater ensemble.
