Thomas Schroyer offers two different programs for both kids and adults: I. Rhythmic Opera World Percussion: Thomas entertains his audience by weaving musical performance with stories, myths, humor, and history of rhythm. From world percussion instruments to household found objects, Thomas colorfully demonstrates the unlimited possibilities of rhythm. In his travels through many rhythmically rich cultures such as Cuba, India, Morocco, and Spain, Thomas gained first hand musical experience playing and collecting his instruments. After many years of learning various rhythms & techniques, Thomas discovered that many of the same rhythmic ideas can be applied to playing a water bottle or a mason jar or even a hubcap. Thomas playfully & humorously integrates these various techniques into his performance. ========= II. Tommy Twimble Circus Performer: Influenced by the ‘new vaudeville’, Thomas Schroyer plays an old world, comic character, Tommy Twimble. This style of physical theater is a form of silent storytelling combining elements of object/hat manipulation, mime, burlesque, eccentric clown, and live music. Thomas writes his own material, builds many of his own props and creates much of his own music. His lively sketches are cross generational bringing the charm of physical comedy and vaudeville into his modern storytelling.
