About the Teller

Ken Iverson has been telling stories since he entered military service when he was 17. He tells for all age groups from 6 on and enjoys telling at libraries, elementary, middle and high schools, corporate events and birthday parties. He also loves telling to seniors, including assisted living, memory care and independent living locations.

Ken tells original stories as well as traditional and contemporary folktales, myths, and tall tales from around the world. He loves the connection that sharing stories creates and how a story can bring people together. A very fun way to spend an hour.

He has special programs for St. Patrick’s Day, Memorial Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. He has a repertoire that allows him to prepare programs for any time of the year or event.

Ken is a founding member and past-president of the Portland Storytellers’ Guild. Workshops on beginning storytelling and personal story creation are also available.

He loves laughter and delights in the power of words to form images that transport us to another place or time. He says “stories are remarkable, they entertain us and also reach deep inside of us helping to heal our limiting beliefs and fears”.
